The Bullet Man
A Brazilian champion
Roberto Carlos is widely recognized as a true football legend. Starting to play for the Brazilian national team at only 19 years old in 1998, he played in three world cups reaching the final in 1998 in France and winning the World cup in 2002 in Korea/Japan. For such outstanding achievements Roberto Carlos was chosen in the FIFA World Cup Dream Team and in the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team in 1998 and 2002. Representing his country, he also won two Copa America (1997,1999) and a Confederation cup.

The brazilian champion is especially known for his speed and for his incredible free kicks preceded by its unique run up. During the opening game of the 1997 Tournoi de France, he impressed the entire world with one of the most breath taking freekicks in football history. With a swipe of that famous left foot, he shot the incredible goal that got millions of fans worldwide starstruck. The video of the amazing shot is still one of the most watched football videos on Youtube. After that he was nicknamed El Hombre Bala ("The Bullet Man") due to his powerful and unpredictable free kicks.
Joining Real Madrid in 1996 he stayed loyal to them for 11 consecutive seasons winning four spanish championships and 3 Champions League titles. During his Real Madrid career, Roberto Carlos was considered the greatest left-back in the world, renowned for getting forward from his left-back position and scoring spectacular goals. Roberto Carlos also wore the jerseys of Inter Milan, Fenerbahce, Corinthians, Anzhi and Delhi Dynamos becoming a football ambassador all over the globe.
