Bio

Bechtloff began playing handball at age five. With the TV Bittenfeld he rose in the 2003/2004 season in the palm-Regional and 2005/2006 in the second Bundesliga Süd on. For the German national youth team, he played 8 games. With the junior national team, he became European champion in 2006 in Innsbruck.

His international debut came on 29 November 2008 in a friendly match against Iceland.

On 29 May 2010 he won the EHF cup with TBV Lemgo.
