European Sports Marketing Manager

Location: Head Office, Wokingham, UK

Salary: circa £42K plus excellent benefits package

As a member of the Sports Marketing team you will contribute to the profitability and growth of the European business by planning, administering, managing and supporting the marketing department’s strategy to increase the company’s market share and overall sales in line with corporate goals.

Responsibilities include;
Plan, administer, coordinate and action marketing activities (print, advertising, PR, internet, in-store support and POP) to achieve maximum demand based on pan European marketing strategies.
Work with European marketing & promotions assistant manager to plan, coordinate and action promotional activities to achieve maximum demand based on pan European marketing strategies.
Ensure consistency of approach to marketing of products and brand through overseas offices and distributors.
Build and maintain a professional relationship with overseas offices and distributors and ensure marketing needs and consistency at met.
Working with European marketing & promotions assistant manager, maximise promotional activities and give promotional support to promotions global accounts (teams, athletes and events).
Maximise marketing & communication opportunities of sponsored athletes, teams and events.
Develop, administer and manage the European sport website and extranet.
Develop and manage the European digital marketing strategy, identifying and implementing marketing opportunities to maximise demand in line with European objectives
Manage and administer relevant budgets day to day, under the guidance of the European Head of Sports.
Plan, administer and organise all European conferences.
Provide support to European Head of Sports.
Act as key contact for marketing & communications between Europe and International.
Manage and control cost centre budgets effectively.
Assess, train and develop all team members to maximum potential.

Key Skills required;
Significant brand and/or retail marketing experience (preferably within the sports industry – a preference to running, football or indoor categories)
Experience in digital marketing and website management
Knowledge of European sporting goods markets
Fluent English and any other European language is desirable
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong organisational skills and highly deadline driven
