The Japanese table tennis doubles team Fukuhara Ai (19yrs, world ranking 15) and Ishikawa Kasumi (16 yrs, world ranking 47, youth ranking 2) battled down the favoured Chinese double Ding Ning and Li Xiaodan (No. 6 and 7 of the world) to win the German Open in Berlin on March 21st
