The organisers of the Reading Half Marathon announced Mizuno as headline sponsor for 2012, an impressive race finishing at the Madejski Stadium. The route, which is one of the world’s fastest half marathon courses, remains unchanged since the first ever race in 1982.

The race starts in Green Park, 250m from the Madejski Stadium, taking runners along the old road to Reading University before going through the city centre, over the river Kennet, past The Oracle shopping complex, under Abbey Gate, out to Prospect Park and back into town.

One of the highlights of the race is the finish in front of the stands in Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium, which runners have described as ‘unbelievable finish which makes the previous 13.1 miles totally worthwhile, definitely a race ending on a high’.
